If you did your research before coming to this site, you may have found out that there are some websites (and youtube channels) offering help with GP.
The catch is that you may not have noticed the ".sg" domain on these websites. From what I know, Singapore has its own A Level board, in collaboration with Cambridge International Education, curated to their specific needs. Meaning that it is tougher than the CIE A Level boards that we follow.
What does this exactly mean and should you be using them?
The board there is differently structured and is meant to be more rigorous/difficult than CIE. With GP, most of the model essays that you find will be heavily focused on Singaporean issues and topics hence will be bound within a Singaporean context. Tuitions for writing essays seem to be quite big there as well with most of these sites and channels promoting their services. Some of the best model essays that I have seen there are completely different from the type of essays that are to be found here in Nepal. Luckily, we here don't need to turn into full-time research and writing analysts just to get a good grade with CIE version of English General Paper.You can use them but I don't recommend them for beginners or those struggling in General Paper. Directly taking essays like those as references without understanding how it is structured, and without knowing how to properly prepare for Paper 1 will be a DISASTER class. You can go through them but don't try to imitate those without learning the ropes first. Don't even think of blatantly copying those just because you felt lazy to do your work. It will come to bite you back sooner or later.
Once you're done getting the hang of writing essays with my resources here, feel free to take those Singaporean model essays as references. My intent is to provide learners with a skeleton, a base that they can change or add up on, as their skill level increases. That is optional and completely up to you, however. The format that I have given you for the essay, personally did an amazing job for me, netting me As and upper Bs. The only time I got a C in General Paper was when I blindly tried to copy a format off those model/sample essay websites. A big mistake on my part.
